たった10年前、世界にはiPhoneどころかiPodすらなかった。皆Blogでなく日記を書いていた。 
たった10年前、世界にはmixiもGREEもモバゲータウンもFaceBookもなかった。GmailもGoogleTalkもGoogleMapsもなかった。Wikipediaもなかった。そこにはiPhoneどころかiPodすらなかった。皆ガラケーでメールを打ち、MDウォークマンを聴き、Blogの代わりに日記を書いていた。
下の年表を見ると、2000〜2003年にはWikipediaの発足以外目立った動きはなかったように思う。2004年になり、Web2.0が叫ばれるようになってからのわずか６年間で世界がドラスティックに変化していったように思う。大きくはSNSの台頭、クラウドの出現、Webブラウザによらない専用クライアント（ハード・ソフトともに）の普及が挙げられる。これらの幾つかは今となってはなくてはならないものになってしまっているが、10年前には影も形もなかったものだ。
思ったほど伸びていないのが公衆無線である。これは痛い。10年もあったのだから、今頃日本中どこでもオンラインになってもおかしくないのだが、いまだに我が家にはイーモバの電波すら来ない。もっともiPhoneやiPadなどは携帯電話の電波を拾うようになっているので基本的にどこでも通信できるが、あの速度ではもう持たないだろう。
他方SNSはもう飽和状態といっていいくらい成熟している。今後どう展開するか楽しみである。
