ショートカット一発検索で生活が変わる 
Windows 2000/XP用ソフトウェアである窓使いの憂鬱用に、任意のテキストをURIに付加して開くというプラグインを作ってみたのだが、これが便利すぎる。たとえば知らない単語を辞書検索とか、コードを書いている時に、知らない関数があったらLinux JM(日本語man)で検索とか、メールにある住所をgoogle mapsで検索とか。これは本当に生活が変わるほど便利なので公開することにした。
Firefoxのプラグインなどで、Webサイト上の単語を検索するものはいくつかあったが、このソフトはキーボードドライバを上書きするものなので、対象テキストはWebサイト上に限られない。エディタや仮想端末、メーラーなど好きなところから起動できる。
一点注意を。このソフトウェアはキーボードドライバをいじくるものなので、不具合が生じた場合、最悪ログインすらできなくなる。復帰方法が当該サイトに書かれているので、プリントアウトしてから起動した方が良いだろう。
拙作のプラグインも動作は一切保証しないのでその点はご留意いただきたい(対応できるか分からないがバグ報告は歓迎)。
プラグインはここからダウンロードできる。これをMAYU_DIR\Pluginにコピーし、設定ファイルに

のように書くと、指定したキー押下により、クリップボードに選択範囲がコピー＆検索が行なわれる。URIのオープンにはデフォルトのブラウザが使われる(ShellExecuteでURIをopenしている)。また、たとえばPuTTYだけにはCtrl+Cを送りたくない場合などは、上記の設定の後に、

のように書いてPuTTYの場合だけ動作を上書きしてやれば良い。
Pluginフォルダにsearchit.txtというファイルを置くと任意の検索エンジンを追加することも可能だ（詳しくはドキュメント参照）。
なお、同様のソフトウェアにAutoHotKeyがあるが、これもahkスクリプトを被せることにより使用可能なようだ。
いかにも誰でも考えつきそうなプラグインなので、車輪の再発明をしていないことを願うばかりである。

なお、筆者はこれが初めてのWindowsプログラミングである(DLLが何かもよく知らなかった)。Cも開発から離れて10年以上経っているので、何か間抜けなことをしていたらご指摘頂ければと思う。何年も前に買ったままになっていたVisual C++が初めて日の目をみることになった。
